4th Regional symposium on Landslides in the Adriatic-Balkan Region – ReSyLAB 2019 and 9th Scientific and Expert Conference – GEO-EXPO 2019, was held in the Hotel Holiday in Sarajevo from 23 to 25 October. The conference focused on several themes: “Landslides in general, mapping, geotechnical investigation and monitoring, environment engineering, underground structures, geotechnical hazard and risk, road infrastructure, foundations, landfills” and attracted over 150 participants from the region. Keynote presentations were delivered by invited lecturers:
President of the ISSMGE dr.sc. Charles Wang Wai Ng (Hong Kong), dr.sc.Norikazu Shimizu (Japan), dr.sc.Alessandro Corsini (Italy) and Vice President of the ICL dr.sc.Željko Arbanas (Croatia).
41 papers by prominent lecturers, professors and experts from the world and region were published in the “Proceedings of the 4th Regional Symposium on Landslides in the Adriatic-Balkan Region” and 17 papers were published in the GEO-EXPO 2019 Proceedings.
Nine companies from the region and Europe, presented their latest technologies, products/equipment and projects related to geotechnics.
The participants had an opportunity to join a professional tourist visit to „Bogatići“ landslide, “Čemerno” landslide and „Sutjeska“ landslide and National Park „Sutjeska“ on the third conference day.
